Machining

Production capacity of FUD company is effectively supported by specialist machinery for machining and heat treatment. The machine shop houses over 60 machines, including horizontal & verical borers, turning lathes (both CNC and manual), milling machines (both CNC and manual), grinders, drills, gear shapers, various sheet metalworking machines (both CNC and manual).

Rustproofing

FUD has modern rustproofingtechnology for large-size steel constructions. Modern equipment for removing corrosion and mill scale from steel to prepare steel to add paint coating.

BLASTECO shot-blasting chamber made by SciTeeX guarantees optimal cleaning conditions in a closed space measuring 5.8x4.2x22[m] with the possibility of adding zone extension of 30[m]. The prepared surface conforms to SA3 class requirements according to PN-EN ISO 8504-2. The working environment conforms to all health and safety conditions which are in force in the European Union in terms of dust, noise, and lighting.

The modern VENUS 385(7)5 painting and drying booth with two zones produced by SciTeeX guarantees accuracy of conditions in terms of temperature and humidity required for hydrodynamic coating of the constructions. Protective paint systems that we use come from such established manufacturers as Teknos or Jotun,and conform to the PN-EN ISO 12944 norms. The controlled area measures 5.0x4.3x38[m] and meets all the health and safety requirements.

Anticorrosive protection technologies used by FUD guarantee long life of pain coating on constructions which work in steelworks, river and seaside harbours.

The constructions we make work in atmospheric conditions of all climatic zones.

Manufacturing of steel structures

Manufacturing of complex steel constructions is possible thanks to modern steel profiling machines. The target shape of the construction elements is cut on our new Messer MultiTherm 4000 plasma cutting machine which also has an oxy-acetylene cutting function, which makes it possible to cut through metal sheets which are up to 300 [mm] thick and measuring 3000x16000 [mm] in size. CNC Numerical control makes it possible to produce any shape.

Cutting is also carried out on guillotine shears, including HACO TS 3006, HACO HSL 3016, Horizontal band-saws for metal PMS 460/600 HAD, PMS 330/330 AN. Sheet bending is done using press brakes with a capacity of 3m x 135t (CNC) and 4,3m x 250t.

Welding is one of the basic processes in the manufacture of steel constructions at FUD. To ensure the highest quality of this process our company under the supervision of the Polish Technical Authority introduced professional qualifications for the following welding methods: MAG (135), SAW (121), SMAW (111). The qualified technology covers materials from groups 1, 3 and 8, according to CR ISO 15608. DNV certificate is an objective proof that our company meets the quality requirements for welding processes in accordance with ISO 3834-2: 2005 in terms of design, manufacture, modernization, repairs, maintenance, installation and maintenance of lifting equipment, steel structures and machine parts. Our welders and welding equipment operators hold licenses issued by the Polish Office of Technical Inspection. The welders are regularly examined according to the requirements of the norm PN-EN 287-1. Operators obtain their qualifications according to the normPN-EN 1418. Welding equipment and materials that we use are from the best worldwide manufacturers, such as ESAB, Lincoln Electric and others.

Design office

The multigenerational team of FUD designers is a group of highly qualified specialists with considerable experience, whose knowledge, modern design techniques and skills allow them to follow through with all, even the most complex, crane equipment projects. Our design office works with Technical Universities and is an important place for future engineers' education in the crane industry in Poland..

  • foundry and casting cranes,
  • special overhead cranes: beam, magnet, grab, gantry cranes with jib crane and many others,
  • column-mounted, dock cranes,
  • transfer tables,
  • hoists and winches.

Fabryka Urządzeń Dźwigowych also designs runways for overhead cranes, various accessories and parts for overhead cranes (beams, grabs, control cabins) and steel constructions. The company also draws up documentation for upgrades of existing overhead cranes, e.g. increasing their lifting capacity or changing the span of the overhead crane bridge.

Thanks to our many years of experience we know the needs of the market and can offer a comprehensive service: from consulting when it comes to the choice of a crane, to preparing documents and notifying the relevant National Technical Authority or Insurance acredited inspection authority.

An important aspect of cooperation is the possibility of contacting our specialists at every stage of the project implementation. By cooperating with different departments we supervise the whole process, from the moment the crane is designed to its production and commissioning at the Client's site and checking its operation. This allows us to continuously improve our products.
